About AIM with Immunotherapy
AIM with Immunotherapy is an initiative of AIM at Melanoma, a global foundation dedicated to finding more effective treatments and, ultimately, the cure for melanoma. AIM with Immunotherapy is one of many websites, organizations, and initiatives within the AIM family.
After the first immunotherapies were approved in melanoma, oncology healthcare professionals turned to AIM’s Melanoma Nursing Initiative for information on these new treatments, especially on the challenges of immune-related adverse events (irAEs) in their patients—side effects that were very different from those related to chemotherapy or radiation.
Once immunotherapies were approved in other cancers, we created AIM with Immunotherapy to offer resources, education, and information to healthcare professionals in all cancers that are treated with immunotherapy.
Who We Are
The faculty is a group of advanced practice providers and other members of the healthcare community who have extensive knowledge about both cancer immunotherapies and the specific tumor types for which they are approved.
What You’ll Find on this Website
This website provides resources for healthcare professionals treating patients with immunotherapies. Our goals are to:
- Educate and engage healthcare providers to optimally address irAEs, with a focus on contextual issues within the tumor types;
- Help providers educate patients receiving cancer immunotherapy to be proactive members of the oncology team in terms of irAE recognition and management.
Our ultimate goal is to help improve therapeutic outcomes for patients receiving cancer immunotherapy.
We hope that you find the content helpful in your efforts to take the best possible care of your patients receiving cancer immunotherapy. We welcome your feedback and encourage you to come back again and again to this resource as we will add additional tools and materials with you in mind.
