The following webpages contain regional content and resources that are customized for the Australian health care professional and patients. The videos feature experts practicing in the country. The written educational material is developed in collaboration with regional advocacy organizations and reviewed by medical experts. In this case, Melanoma Skin Cancer Advocacy Network (MSCAN) is our partner.
Content included:
- Care Step Pathways are one- or two-page documents that review the toxicities associated with immunotherapy. Examples of the toxicities included are adrenal insufficiency, colitis, and diabetes. These documents reflect the latest management strategies. They also provide information about assessment, grading, and management for the healthcare professional.
- Decision-making tools are pamphlets that offer valuable support and discussion guides for patients when making decisions about treatment, depending on the disease stage. Currently, we only offer pamphlets dedicated to patients with Stage III and Stage IV melanoma, but we will be adding other decision-making tools for other cancers in the future.
- Patient Action Plans are resources that guide patients receiving a specific immunotherapy on possible side effects and how to react if they occur. Each plan also includes information on how the medication is administered. We suggest you print a Plan for your patient and use it in discussions. Then give it to your patient to take home and keep for later referral to help them recognize and manage the side effects of treatment.
- Treatment Videos are clips of regional experts discussing various aspects of therapy. Topics featured in the videos include therapeutic sequencing with immunotherapy, combination immunotherapy, recommendations for COVID-19 patients, and Stage II melanoma treatment recommendations.
