I was involved in some of the early clinical trials with ipilimumab going back about 10 years now (wow!). Fortunately, in I have seen very few infusion reactions. However, when they have occurred, they have been less like “infusion reactions” instead, they have been more similar to RBC transfusion reactions: one patient had minor lip edema about 10 minutes into the infusion, and another patient had back pain. Both patients received just diphenhydramine and for subsequent infusions, premed of diphenhydramine.

For those that have seen ipilimumab infusion reactions, I would be interested to hear what the symptoms were seen with the reaction and how subsequent infusions were handled.

      Thanks!
